2008 Narcotics Division Summary

In 2008, the Narcotics Division received 542 new files.  In response, the unit closed 553 files through pleas or dismissals.  It is important to note that most of the dismissals are due to successful prosecution of co-defendants.  Specifically, the unit closed 335 (345 LD) through pleas and 197 through dismissals.  In total, 2728 years and 18 days of sentencing were ordered, and of that, 462 years, 10 months and 13 days were time to be served in custody.  The unit also had individuals sentenced to $1,008,600.00 in fines.
