Amy Smith is a Senior Assistant District Attorney and has been with our office since 1997. During her tenure with the office she has served in almost all the prosecution units, from traffic and special victims to property and major crimes. She is currently heading or Child Support Services division where she works closely with the Department of Human Services and the Division of Child Support Services both establishing and enforcing child support orders in Houston County.
Amy received her undergraduate degree from Illinois State University in 1992 where she was a Presidential Scholar. She then attended law school at the University of Georgia where she both wrote for and was an articles editor for the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia in 1995. Prior to joining the District Attorney’s Office Amy was the law clerk for the Southwestern Judicial Circuit for two years.
