Tom Calhoun, a local attorney of many years and one of the most esteemed members of the bar, passed away in his sleep last night (Sunday, December 2, 2007).
The family has asked that a donation be made to a favorite charity in lieu of flowers. The Houston County Bar will be making a donation to Legal Aid in Tom's name in recognition of his outstanding service to the legal community and to the public. Please keep Tom and his family in your prayers.
Thomas H. Calhoun -WARNER ROBINS - Thomas H. Calhoun, 60, died Saturday, December 1, 2007. Graveside services will be held at 2P.M. Wednesday in Riverside Cemetery. The Rev. Kevin Mills will officiate. The family will greet friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street and asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the donor's favorite charity. -Mr. Calhoun was born in Macon and had lived in Middle Georgia for most of his life. He was a graduate of Lanier High School, Mercer University and received his law degree from Mercer University Law School. Mr. Calhoun was a partner with Kushinka, Calhoun and Godwin in Warner Robins and was a member of Central Baptist Church, Houston Lake Golf and Country Club, the American Bar Association and former Vice President of the Home Owner's Association in Warner Robins. He was the son of the late Melba Willis Calhoun. -Mr. Calhoun is survived by his wife, Lynn Leggett Calhoun of Warner Robins; children, Kate Schwiezer of Warner Robins and Zach Calhoun of Milledgeville; grandchildren, Eve Schwiezer and Connor Calhoun; father, Thomas Drew Calhoun of Macon; sisters, Margaret (Carlos) Flowers of Hazlehurst, GA and Mary (Richard) Joaquin of Macon. -Visit www.MeM.com to express tributes. -Snow's Memorial Chapel Funeral and Cremation Services, Cherry Street, has charge of arrangements.
