On April 1st and 2nd a community car wash was held behind the Houston County Juvenile
Justice Complex.
Local teens donated over 16 man hours and washed hundreds of cars. Lunch was graciously donated by Domino’s (Moody Rd location) and car wash supplies were donated by Wal-Mart (Watson Road location). There were over 40 Houston county teens that participated in the program. Also present were members of Houston County’s Department of Juvenile Justice, Houston County Sheriff’s Office Juvenile Division, Houston County Wrap-Around and the Juvenile Division of the DA’s office. The Juvenile Court of Houston County also helped by making a donation to help defray the additional costs of food and supplies. Special thanks also goes out to the Houston County Sheriff’s Office and Fire Department for allowing us to use their space during the car wash.
The teens worked extremely hard and only accepted donations of used towels and bottled water. The community seemed to really appreciate all the hard work these teens were willing to put in.
