Deshala Dixon is a graduate of Harvard University and Boston College School of Law. In law school, she received the Wendell F. Grimes Award for outstanding achievement in oral advocacy competitions and was chair of the Board of Student Advisors. She was also the Membership Director for the National Black Law Student Association. After law school, she practiced as an Assistant District Attorney in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, the largest county in New England. In 2005, she moved to Georgia where she worked with the Cordele Judicial Circuit as the Assistant District Attorney for Dooly County. While at the Cordele Judicial Circuit, she specialized in sexual assault cases and never lost a trial in Dooly County. In February of 2011, she joined the Houston County Judicial Circuit. She is the Vice Chair for the Georgia High School Mock Trial Competition and a member of the National Black Prosecutors Association. In her spare time, she takes dance classes at the Academy of Dance in Warner Robins and Kali Dance Studio in Macon.
