Meredith Howell is a Crime Victim Advocate with Hodac. She has been in her current position since October 2007. She holds a Bachelor Degree of Science in Public Service/Human Services from Macon State College. Meredith has certificates of completion in Hodac’s Core Advocated Training, Georgia Network to End Sexual Assault’s Advocacy 101 Training, Houston Family Violence Prevention Council’s Law Enforcement Response to Domestic Violence Training, and the Office for Victims of Crime Victim Assistance Training Online. Meredith believes the most important aspect of assisting victims is to empower each and every one in some way. She hopes to do this through educating victims in the court process, referring victims to resources within the local area, listening to how victims feel about the incident, and allowing victims to make their own decisions without judgment. Although she has handled many types of cases, Meredith works most closely with crimes related to the Special Victims Unit.
