Burglar's Trip Up Leads to His Fall

On November 15, 2007, Warner Robins Police responded to a store alarm. Surveillance video showed the suspect breaking into the store and stealing cigarettes. While dashing away the suspect tripped on a concrete turtarrier in the parking lot and fell flat on his face. A detective interviewed the suspect and both had a laugh recalling the comical spill. The admission to the embarrassing fall and other evidence confirmed the suspect was the thief on the tape. The judge didn't think it was funny and sentenced the cigarette burglar to serve 7 years in prison without parole. Georgia prisons are smoke free buildings.
