Welcome! The Special Victims Unit prosecutes all crimes of violence committed against spouses, children, family members and others living in the same household. SVU is the primary unit for sex crimes prosecution, and works closely with the Houston County Sheriff's Department Juvenile Division. Some of the primary areas of prosecution include elder abuse, crimes against the disabled, child abuse, domestic violence, sexual assaults, and physical assaults.
Senior ADA K. David Cooke and ADA Joshua D. Morrison, along with Investigator Beverly Robinson, work in the SVU. The unit is assisted by Administrative Assistant Emery Griffith.
The Special Victims Unit works closely with Crime Victim Advocates to provide help and resources to the victims of crime.
