Xavier Tracy Hickey of Perry was convicted of Armed Robbery and Robbery Thursday by a jury in Houston County Superior Court. The Honorable Edward D. Lukemire sentenced Hickey to a life sentence under Georgia’s recidivist statute. Pursuant to Georgia law, the State filed a recidivist demand which means that Mr. Hickey will serve 30 years without parole for these crimes.

UPDATE: Wednesday September 17, 2008: George A. Buffkin was sentenced to Life Without The Possibility of Parole this morning by Houston Superior Court Judge Edward Lukemire. Buffkin had a criminal history that included four prior automobile thefts and an aggravated stalking conviction.

RICHARD DANIEL VORREYER, age 50, of Perry pled guilty to two counts of Aggravated Sexual Battery for acts committed against two children, ages seven and nine.
Houston County Superior Court Judge Edward Lukemire sentenced Vorreyer to 25 years in prison, to be followed by a lifetime of probation should he survive his 25 year sentence. Vorreyer will not be eligible for parole and must serve the entire 25 years in prison before his release.
