What happens when a probationer commits a new offense?

E-mail Print PDF
When someone on probation commits a criminal act, they actually face two separate charges.  The first is the charges for the act itself, whether they be a DUI or something more serious such as Aggravated Battery.  In addition to those charges, the probationer faces revocation as well.  The revocation, while based on the same facts, is separate and distinct from the new charges.
