Why is it important to report to probation?

E-mail Print PDF
Failing to report is one of the most common reasons for a probation revocation.  It is also the violation that many judges consider the most frustrating part of probation hearings because there is no good reason not to report to probation.  There are valid instances where someone does not have the money to pay their probation fee.  The longer someone fails to report, the more significant the consequence when they are finally caught.  Keeping the lines of communication open with your probation officer is key.
