How to Avoid ID Theft
- Do not give out needless information (stores)
- Ask why an individual/store needs your information
- No information given to "Caller ID Withheld" phone numbers
- No information unless YOU placed the call.
- Check all your financial accounts often (at least monthly)
- Keep track of your bank, credit, and social security cards
- Keep your bank and credit card statements on file
- Ask for your credit report (yearly)
