ANTOINE MANIGAN, 35, of 103 Marcia Court, Warner Robins, pleaded guilty today in Houston Superior Court to two counts of Child Molestation and was sentenced to 30 years. He was ordered to spend the first 20 years in prison. Upon release, Manigan will be subject to rigorous sex offender conditions and may not have any contact with the victim.
In March of 2011, a 13-year old female disclosed that the Defendant got into bed with her. The victim woke up to find the defendant placing his hand on her genital area. The Defendant told the girl to pull down her pants but she refused. Instead, the victim told the Defendant that she wanted to go back to sleep. Defendant then pulled down the 13-year old victim’s shorts, put on a condom and had sex with the victim.
COMMENTS FROM ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEY DESHALA DIXON: “We’re satisfied with the harsh sentence that the Defendant received. This was a particularly egregious crime, and we are glad that the victim can now take the next step in the healing process.”
COMMENTS FROM DISTRICT ATTORNEY GEORGE H. HARTWIG, III: “Violent sexual offenders are the worst predators our society has to offer. It is good to know that this monster is off the streets, and hopefully it will make predators like him think twice before assaulting a child. I want to thank ADA Dixon and Houston County Sheriff's Sgt. Keel Broom (ret.) for their hard work in this case.”
Assistant DA Deshala Dixon prosecuted the case. Manigan was represented by Public Defender Nicholas White. For more information, call ADA Deshala Dixon at 478-218-4810.
