Kevin Daly, having been convicted for numerous child sex offenses and sentenced to 75 years in prison, has been denied certiorari by the United States Supreme Court.

A writ of certiorari is the method by which a party seeks to have the United States Supreme Court hear their case. Once a writ of certiorari has been denied, that effectively terminates further appeals on a case. For Kevin Daly, that means that he can sit back and relax while he serves out his 75 year prison sentence for violating two small children in 2003. He was convicted by a jury of his peers on March 25, 2004, and sentenced by the Honorable Edward D. Lukemire to 115 years, to serve the first 75 years in prison. Kelly Burke, District Attorney: "Kevin Daly was one of the worst sexual predators I have run across. He gained the trust of these young children (under 5 years of age) and then violated them in the worst possible way. His sentence was lengthy enough to ensure that he never breathes free air again. No child should ever have to see Daly again and the United States Supreme Court action goes a long way to ensuring that goal."
