A Warner Robins man pled guilty in Houston Superior Court to kidnapping for an attack on his estranged wife that happened last March. Jabari Hikene Fields, 23, of 135 Ignico Drive pled guilty to one count of kidnapping for participating along with two other co-defendants in abducting his then wife, putting her in handcuffs, forcing her into the trunk of car, and forcing her to withdraw money from an automated teller machine. Two other co-defendants are awaiting trial for their role in the crime. Judge Katherine K. Lumsden sentenced Fields to a twenty-year term, requiring him to serve at least 10 years without parole. Assistant Public Defender Bennett Willis represented Fields.

COMMENTS FROM CHIEF ASSISTANT JASON ASHFORD: "This was a horrible crime that terrified the victim and Mr. Fields just lost 10 years of his life because of it. We hope this sentence sends a message to other domestic violence criminals that Houston County won’t tolerate this behavior."
